Continued Support Amidst Challenges
After the devastating flood in 2020, the 15th of May area faced a new obstacle. The government, concerned about the safety of the residents, made the decision to prohibit anyone from living or working in the area. This left many families displaced and uncertain about their future. For our organization, it meant that we could no longer operate from the community center, which had been a refuge during the flood.
However, we knew that our work was far from over. The children and families in the 15th of May area still needed us, and we were determined to continue supporting them. In order to keep providing educational and emotional support, we rented apartments to work in. Despite the constant movement from one location to another, our commitment to the children remained unwavering. We adapted to the new circumstances, ensuring that we were always there for the kids—whether through home visits, remote lessons, or providing mental support.
Though the challenges were great, our dedication to the community kept us going. We continued to find ways to bring hope, education, and stability to the children, and we were determined to stand by them until they could return to their homes
